Time for a little baking
A few weeks ago I made these scrumptious Raspberry Friands and as I still had heaps of Almond Meal, I wanted to make some more. Well, wouldn't you know it! - I didn't have enough icing sugar :( and I wasn't going back to the shops just for that. Plan 2 takes place. In my favourites I had another 2 recipes with Almond Meal that I wanted to try - I chose this one Greek Almond Biscuits and they did not disappoint. When testing recipes off the internet I will go by the reviews - the reviews were all positive so I figured they would be fine.
Well, let me just say, they are so yummy and very more-ish! If you like almonds or the taste of marzipan, I highly recommend them.
I was hoping to get some tangling done today, but here it is almost 11.30pm and all I've managed to do is print off the string for this week's challenge with I am the Diva. The night is still young, may get to start the challenge yet :)
I really don't know what's wrong with Blogger, it's still mucking up (for 2 months now). I've tried the suggestions on their discussion board and still keep getting logged out AND I can't upload pics (unless via Flickr). I must have signed in at least 10 times just while trying to write up this post! grrrrrr...... :( not happy Jan!
Here it is 12.15am, have been booted off, have closed down the computer and started all over again. Managed to upload some pics but as soon as they appear on my draft post, it tells me I'm logged off and to log in again - I'm tired of all this. Will try thru Flickr now......hmmmm
12.38am -FINALLY - By the way I put one of those boiled lollies in the centre of one batch and rolled the other in almond flakes - aren't they cute! :))
12.48.... this is unreal :( I can't believe Google still hasn't fixed their glitch.

Zendala Dare #42b

Tangles: Zenplosion and Ribbon (Daniele O'Brien) Stacks (Helen Williams)
A completely different look to the first one. I wanted to use a tangle that could be drawn fairly quickly and take up lots of space, so 'Stacks' fitted the bill. Then what to do? I wanted to give it a rustic feel, so I added rivets to the Stacks. Then I wanted to fill the spaces around Stacks - so came Zenplosion, and for interest I added Ribbons, which have the same flow as Zenplosion so fitted in quite well. Then, I wanted to use either a pattern that looked like old bricks or cobblestones - cobblestones won that draw. I used muted water colour pencils, filling in the middle with a lime colour to bring out the main tangles.
I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed the process.

Zendala Dare #42a
I quite like this template and for me this has an Oriental feel to it - maybe because of the Zuan Chi tangle I used on the outer edge.

Weekly Challenge #103 b String Theory v.XXII - Moebius Syndrome Awareness

Weekly Challenge #103: "String Theory v.XXII - Moebius Syndrome Awareness"
2nd entry
tangles: Moebius, Buttercup, Keenies, Florz, Kuzek, Florez
I found a post from Sandra Strait (Mollossus) showing how to draw 'Moebius'. I wish I found it earlier as it's quite lovely and much simpler than when I drew it for my first entry. I quite like that they are not even.

Pow - Desktop Tangle
This is the end result of a work in progress I've had going on for several months. It's been on my desk at work and I've been adding to it whenever I've been on the phone. The size of the paper is A3 and I used Uniball gel pens in black, blue and red. I do have a pic of it whilst still in progress, somewhere in my photostream - it would be in my set 'My Zentangle Inspired Art if you wanted to check it out.
If you look closely you can see all the scribbles and notes (and a coffee stain ;-p) I have drawn over. I use the paper to jot things down and then I decided to make good use of it and be more productive :)
I hope you like it and of course, as always your comments are welcome.
I have now started another one and I'm going to try to remember to take pictures as I go.
Thanks for taking the time to look :))

Weekly Challenge #103 String Theory v.XXII Moebius Syndrome Awareness
Weekly Challenge #103 String Theory v.XXII Moebius Syndrome Awareness, a photo by Poppie_60 on Flickr.
This was quite a tricky one for me. I drew the symbol for Moebius Syndrome last night and then didn't know what to do with it. When I got home from work, I picked it up and wanted to do another pattern similar to 'Tucked In' but could not find it. Tucked in was a bit odd as I knew I wanted to draw some flowers as well - in the end, I think it all came together.
Tangles:
Tucked In
Blossom
Sooflower
and a little bit of Diva Dance (Waltz)
some fillers

Thanks for looking :)
X Heart finished
Step by Step pattern 'X'
was trying to work out a simpler way of drawing my pattern 'X'
what I discovered was it does not have to be in the round and I think it lends itself beautifully to squares or rectangles.
For me, the most difficult part was the shading!! grrr!! :))
I would love to see your creations :)
Thanks for looking.

Zendala Dare #40c
This was an odd shape - I didn't realise it only had 7 points until after I started doing one - then I remembered what Erin wrote on her Blogg - it was different than other templates. It was interesting to say the least - not really sure how I was going to tackle it - I ended up doing 3 very different looking Zendalas.
thanks for looking.

Bunzaura Plant
Bunzaura Plant
Weekly Challenge #102: "DuoTangle v.VI: Auraknot/Bunzo"
This week's challenge is to only use 2 tangles - and they are Auraknot and Bunzo. At first I thought they were an odd combination, but, it didn't take me long to come around - I quite like the two together.
Here is my rendition of the 'Bunzaura Plant' (if there ever was one) :)) coloured in with Prismacolors.

one heart
First challenge with the Diva for 2013! Yay! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday :)
This week's tangle is by the one and only B-rad, Laura (The Diva's hubby). He came up with it one night before Christmas, whils listening to Pink Floyd.
As soon as I saw the pattern I thought of hearts - the background pattern is 'Fiore de Pietro' by Rho Densmore.
Thanks for stopping by and if you have some time head on over to iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com.au/ to see some other entries.
Cheers! enjoy the weekend :)

It's a great tangle, don't you think? Well done B-rad!!
I did several works for this challenge, and I have to say this one is my favourite - I kept it simple.
