Weekly Diva Challenge #124 - We are Calgary (After the Floods - With Thoughts of Calgary)

This week's challenge is an open challenge - The Diva asks that we keep Calgary in our hearts this week, and any part of the Earth. My prayers and thoughts go out to the people dealing with incredible struggles and tragedy.
Remember, after the rain comes the sunshine and rainbows :)
When I read this week's challenge, my mind went blank. I left it for a while and began tangling, nothing in particular. I figured something will come to me and if it didn't then I wouldn't submit this piece. Well 2 nights later I remembered seeing a post on ribbon letters, (I was half asleep at the time). I finally found the website and then wondered if I could use ribbon letters. I looked at my work and what do I see? I saw the letter 'C' so it was perfect - and here is my finished piece for the Challenge.
Thanks for looking :)

Adventure in Monotgangles #15 Betweed

This week's AIM is Betweed - it's a tangle I'm not usually drawn to, however, I did find it quite relaxing and surprisingly it didn't take long at all - flows quickly.

Happy 80th Birthday Card

Birthday card made for a work colleague's grandfather

The request was he likes fishing and blue so I hope she likes it.  thanks for looking :)

I used cardstock in various colours, stencilled and sponged one of them, tangled the picture with coloured pencils.  added some embellishments.

My latest craze - tangling on wooden coffee/tea stirrers :)

Not sure what I will do with them yet, but until I do I will keep on tangling :)

Weekly Challenge #123: "Guest Post: Is it a Zentangle?"

My take on this week's challenge - I used the letters I, M, S, V, H, L, Z, E, G, F, W, O

It was an interesting concept as I did indeed find the process very 'Zen'

Weekly Challenge #123: "Guest Post: Is it a Zentangle?"

Not a Zentangle but a Zendala. I don't normally use pencil, but I did want this to be fairly uniform - I used the letters to spell 'I LOVE U'.

Be Free

Always looking out for new idea to incorporate with my tangles.

Here I drew a flower, some swirls and circles with 'Crystal Effects' then tangled.  Oh I sponged some vanilla cardstock with distressed ink first.

Thanks for looking :)

Overexposed and added some rays digitally

I don't think I've ever tried this tangle - don't know how that happened as it's quite a simple and effective one.

Panda

I forgot that this was going to be a monotangle for this week's 'Adventures in Monotangles' with Roy from 'Mindful Creations' :)

mindful-creations.blogspot.com.au/

This Adventure, which is now up to Week 14 is to use the tangle called 'Hollibaugh'. So here you have it, something that began with Hollibaugh in mind, but then I got side tracked.

I'll try to do another one soon.

Thanks for your visit - comments are always welcome and appreciated :)

10,000 Hits - thanks Everyone :)

Wooh! Hooh!  I am very excited - thanks to everyone who has visited my blog.  Who would have thought that I would even have a blog.  I probably wouldn't if I didn't discover my favourite pastime 'Zentangle' :)

Chop Chop Pattern Step by Step

Chop Chop pattern.
It doesn't really matter if the 'curves' and 'triangles' are not the same size. The only important thing is that they line up - row by row.
It reminds me of a choppy sea but then again I see a flock of seagulls :)
Thank you for looking - comments most welcome :)

Playing Catch Up

I don't like seeing unfinished pieces in my sketchbook -  I was going to help my sister pack as she is moving house, but last minute changes so I stayed home and tangled instead :)

This started as a test piece to a couple of patterns that came to me (the middle one and on the right hand side - the one on the left is a variation to 'Offerings'

Came up with the pattern above - its called 'Z-Box' or Zibbox - have step outs but not posted anywhere yet :)

Saw these cute wooden magnets at the Newsagent this morning, just had to buy them to tangle on.

not sure if I posted this one last night - another variation to 'Tule'

Thank you for visiting - please come again :)

Adventures in Monotangles #13 Shard

I haven't used Shard for quite some time so it was good to revisit it - I had forgotten how lovely it is :)

with Roy Stauffer mindful-creations.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/adventures-in-m...

Decided to try this tangle in a spiral - used the back of a coaster - love picking up coasters from different clubs and tangling on them :)

Zendala Dare # 60 - #35 revisited 'Where's my template?'

Zendala Dare #60 - the Devil that you know

thebrightowl.blogspot.com.au/

After I realised I interpreted this week's Dare incorrectly, I knew exactly which Dare to revisit. It was number 35, titled 'where is my template?'. I struggled with this one - I took several attempts at scanning the cut out (used up all my colour cartridge in the process too!) I was that fed up with it that I kept procastinating, and in the end I did not finish it. So this time I went back in time, found the 3 different coloured cardstocks all ready to be tangled and here is the result. I hope you like it - was a long time coming.

thanks for looking :)
