He is looking at you kid (Go-tee Pattern)

Aptly named Go-tee as it reminded me of my Buddy's goatee.

Funny how when you get creative your mind doesn't stop! lol that's how come there's 3 new patterns for me :) - you know how it is - gotta get it down on paper - so here is the step out.

thank you for visiting :)

3 Wise Men - Paris (pattern)

I wanted to make my grand-daughter a Christmas card with a fun, cheery, Christmassy feel.  Santas came to mind and this is the pattern that developed.  From this pattern emerged another named 'Go-tee' (I will post that one too).  I have named this pattern after my grand-daughter Paris.

As I was doing the card, I changed my mind a little and did not add any eyes to the Santas.  I decided to have 2 borders and then for the main part of the card I turned the Santas into the 3 Wise Men, and left the end ones for Christmas Trees.  (that's ok, we can do that - there is no right or wrong)

I hope you like it and I would love to see what others come up with.  Thank you for your visit :)

Kurrajong - new pattern

Whilst I didn't end up participating in last week's Diva Challenge #148 Merry Happy
(In the spirit of the Holidays, this week's challenge is to create a piece or tile for your own holidays. Whatever you celebrate, however you celebrate)  I did have a think about it but got too busy to do anything :)

Being in Australia, Christmas is in Summer.  I remember the hot days and the beautiful trees that are in flower - the one that came to mind is named after the area I live in - it is called 'The Illawarra Flame' tree and its other name is Kurrajong'. So, I did some research and came up with this flower pattern. Here's some text from Wikipaedia ... Brachychiton acerifolius, commonly known as the Illawarra Flame Tree, is a large tree of the family Malvaceae native to subtropical regions on the east coast of Australia. It is famous for the bright red bell-shaped flowers that often cover the whole tree when it is leafless. Along with other members of the genus Brachychiton, it is commonly referred to as a Kurrajong.

in a grid

and this is a picture of one just around the corner from where I live and strangely enough this picture was taken after a day of tangling by the water - the day after Christmas in 2011, the day I started to tangle :)

Thanks for taking time to look - your comments are welcome.

Weekly Challenge #146: DuoTangle Pea-nuckle/Well

I made some time to do a piece for this week's Diva Challenge.  This week we are to only use 2 tangles - they are Pea-nuckle and Well.  At first I thought it a  very strange combination and didn't see how these two tangles would gel.  I decided to do 'Well' not so rigid and without it being in a grid, although I love grid patterns and I have a liking for Well too.  As for 'Pea-nuckle', I don't remember the last time I have used it - it's not a favourite of mine as I can't seem to make it flow naturally.  So between the rigid Pea-nuckle and the gridless Well, I think it came together and I am very happy with the outcome.

Thanks for your visit - have a lovely week and Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends celebrating the day.  :)

Oh, I fiddled around and photo edited some too.  It's fun seeing what I come up with - of course nothing beats the original in black and white.  Let me know what you think :)

And after all that, I'm having problems uploading pics on my Blog so I will link it via Flickr.  Oh well!

Finally! it worked! phew! :)

Zendala Dare # 81

It's been a long time between drinks! I don't remember the last Dare I submitted.  As soon as I viewed this week's template from Erin Olson (www.thebrightowl.com) I had visions of Asian bowls.  So here is my piece - thought it was fitting to draw it in blue.  I'm still tossing whether to add some fill inside the bowls and/or around the 'bowls' in the centre.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you all have a peaceful week :)

A crook back - what to do? why Tangle of course! :)

Tried my hand at making a hand drawn Mandala.

Drew a string months ago - it was time to attack it - this has been scanned and still needs shading to be added.  Thanks for looking :)

Oh, one more thing, - here is my string.  I forgot to take work in progress pics - next time I'll try to remember :)

Weekly Challenge #145: "New Official Tangle: Quib" #2

The other day I quickly sketched Quib on a blank postcard - thought I'd tackle it and make something of it and here it is, Thanks for looking and now that I'm done with Quib (for now anyway)  I will venture out and see what others have done with it -  I'm sure there'll be some wonders to see.

Weekly Challenge #145: "New Official Tangle: Quib"

Well, here I am - I've missed out on so many Weekly Challenges with the Diva as I was having too much fun and relaxation in sunny Florida.  Not only that I got to spend some quality time with my sweetheart.  It's not easy being in a long distant relationship and I am so grateful to have spent 2 months with him.  Leaving him just gets harder and harder - it's heartbreaking.  But for now that's what we can do until things get sorted out.

I'm not so sure about this new official tangle... I don't see many possibilities really.  I wanted to see if I could showcase it in a different light by using it in the hair, rather than something more abstract.  This is what I came up with - not too many tangles in the background as to not lose the effect.  I hope you like it and as always thanks for visiting my Blog.  Your comments are very much appreciated.  :)

Goodbye Florida (for now) :))

I was hanging to do some tangling, found some time last night

I started this one on the flight home and finished it today.
