Weekly Challenge #179: "Be like Bijou"

Hi my friends, it's been a while since I've posted and missed last week's challenge with the Diva.  That's not to say I didn't tangle.   I have been making some postcards for a swap with the 'Aussie Zentangle Inspired Art' Facebook group.

First of all here is my little 'Bijou' using just 2 tangles; Kuke by Katy Abbott CZT and Twile (Stoic) by Lesley Scott-Gilliland.

My Postcards - if you have time click on the links to read/see more about the place where I live.

A scene from Wollongong Botanical Gardens - such a pretty place to relax and just wonder around looking at the beautiful gardens.  Showing Kawasaki Bridge

Here I tangled the Gratitude Bell found at Nan Tien Temple - the largest Buddhist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere.  A beautiful serene place. A little bit about the relevance of the bell. about the bell

This scene is of Bald Hill at Stanwell Park  a look out with views all the way down the south coast - Illawarra, where I live.

Pelicans abound in the Illawarra as the majority of our towns are by the sea - these ones were inspired by a pic I took down at the boat harbour, in Shellharbour village - about a 2 minute walk from where I live.

This tangle is my 'Kurrajong' inspired by the Illawarra Flame Tree  for more pics click here pics of the Illawarra Flame Tree and this one is located just around the corner from me(same problem as my other pic)

Back in 2011, the day after Christmas, my daughter and I went to a place nearby called Barrack Point.  I had just discovered Zentangle ® and took my drawing tools, sat under a tree and tangled.  Up in a tree above us were some 'Galahs' - hence this postcard. This is a pic I took- sorry, have no idea why its gone sideways (tried uploading a couple of times)

 just some shells for Shellharbour

Belmore Basin at Wollongong Harbour - the largest city in The Illawarra - showing our 2 lighthouses.  I lived in Wollongong for 30 years before moving south to Shellharbour.  The lighthouses turn pink in October for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

So there you have it, its a long post but hopefully it gave you an insight of my home and surrounds.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you come back soon

Have a great week!
